Early Influences, Media Technique and Specific Description of Work:

Teacher, Wm. Moreland, L.S.U. Baton Rouge, Louisiana believed so strongly in my work that I drew confidence in expressing in different ways my own ideas. Many media were tried oil, pastel, mixed, watercolor, inks. Nature was being not forgotten but transcended. 

Later Influences, Media Technique and Specific Description of Work:

In later years, Primitive and Folk Art and particularly the Mexican painters, Diego Rivera, Siqueiros, Tamayo, and Zuniga fascinated me. Stronger Color and Patterns emerged. Living now many years in New Mexico and being one half Cherokee and one half Irish has reinforced my already sensitive nature to blinding color and stronger lines - even moodiness of theme. Working with combinations of acrylic, inks and watercolors, my work has taken on a more sculptural image. Working now almost entirely from "memory" leaves now "undone" hopefully "the unnecessary". My themes now are concerned with the "human and social conditions" - namely, the treasure of human advice and consolation, Womens' Rights, the homeless, and the pathos of war. Also Symbolism is finding it's way into my latest venture.
